In South Florida, the patio is a second living room. An outdoor kitchen turns it into a place to cook, gather and entertain without running back and forth to the house. North2South Renovations designs and builds outdoor kitchens across Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Palm Beach County, from a simple grill island to a fully equipped kitchen under a covered lanai.

Outdoor kitchens here have to handle sun, salt air, heavy rain and hurricane season. We plan the layout around how you cook and entertain, then choose materials that hold up outside: stainless steel or marine-grade cabinetry, stone or porcelain countertops, and properly protected gas, electrical and plumbing connections.

Because outdoor kitchens involve gas, electrical and plumbing work, they usually need permits, and many communities require HOA architectural approval for the structure, roof or finishes. As a licensed general contractor, we handle the design, approvals, permits and construction as one team.

Design and Approvals

We plan the layout, appliances and utility runs, then handle HOA architectural review and the gas, electrical and plumbing permits your project needs.

We use the best

Some of the products we use

North2South did an excellent job on our kitchen remodel. We didn’t really have a clear vision of what exactly we wanted, but we knew our ugly outdated kitchen had to go. Colby and his team walked us through the design process, listened when we had ideas or opinions, and took the lead when we were clueless. I can’t tell you how many times we said “just do whatever you would do if it was your house”, and each time they proved that they were deserving of that trust. They ended up changing the footprint/layout of the kitchen, moving plumbing, replacing all the floors,.

Colby and his team did a great job with our home renovation! His team was professional, skilled and very detailed. Colby kept us updated on progress along with way as well as discuss and explain any roadblocks the team was facing. I appreciate that the team kept on schedule, and on budget. I've worked with several different firms and this was by far the best experience. I highly recommend them!

FAQ

Outdoor Kitchen FAQs

Usually yes. Gas lines, new electrical circuits and plumbing for a sink all require permits, and a new roof or pergola structure needs a building permit. Many HOAs also require architectural approval before work starts.

Stainless steel or marine-grade polymer cabinets, granite, quartzite or porcelain countertops, and porcelain or stone flooring. Engineered quartz can discolor in direct sun, so we usually recommend other surfaces for uncovered areas.

Yes. Covered outdoor kitchens are designed to Florida Building Code wind-load requirements and permitted as a structure. Shade makes the space more comfortable and protects appliances and finishes.

A grill island on an existing patio can take a few weeks once permits are issued. A full outdoor kitchen with a new covered structure takes longer because of engineering, approvals and inspections.

Either can work. Natural gas needs a line run from the meter, and propane needs a properly located tank. Both are installed by licensed gas professionals and inspected.
