Delray Beach has five local historic districts: West Settlers, Old School Square, Del-Ida Park, Marina and Nassau Park. Interior kitchen work usually needs only a standard building permit, but exterior changes, like a new window over the sink or a new exterior door, can bring historic review. We check your address before we design.
Condo kitchens come with association rules on work hours, noise, elevator use and insurance. Because plumbing and venting usually stay put, we get more space and storage from the cabinet layout. See permits and HOA/condo approvals.
In the communities west of I-95, the typical request is opening the kitchen to the family room, adding a big quartz island and replacing dated cabinets and lighting.
Florida HB 803 took effect July 1, 2026. It lets single-family owners skip a building permit for some work valued under $7,500, but it does not cover plumbing, electrical, structural, mechanical or gas work, it does not apply in flood hazard areas, and a project cannot be split up to stay under the limit. A real remodel moves drains, valves or wiring, so plan on a permit. We file it and close it out.

Usually not for interior work. Exterior changes, like a new window or door, can need historic review. We check before design.
Most of our kitchens run $16,500 to $30,000 for a refresh, $27,000 to $47,500 for a mid-range remodel with new cabinets in the same layout, and $75,000 to $150,000+ for a high-end remodel with layout changes.

Usually. Florida HB 803, effective July 1, 2026, exempts some single-family work under $7,500, but not plumbing, electrical, structural or gas work. New circuits, a moved sink or a removed wall all need a permit, and we handle it.
Quartz is engineered, consistent and low-maintenance. Quartzite is natural stone with more variation and needs sealing. See our quartz vs. quartzite guide.
